How to Customize a Product Manager Resume for Big Tech w/ Chat GPT 4o
The biggest problem in the current market is getting the interview.
The problem is every resume looks THE SAME, hiring teams aren’t reading your resume, because they are too overworked, and you need a job ASAP ROCKY.
I got you!
I found out recently from a few of my members that landed product manager offers recently in big tech (subscribe to our YouTube channel, if you want a hint) that they were sending a branded resume to their dream companies.
There is a way to craft these resumes with Chat GPT 4o these days and coincidently (I swear my iPhone is listening to all my convos) a YouTube short posted by Lilian Chiu popped up on my screen showing me the same concept of a resume that went viral for using a Spotify layout to apply to a position there.
This isn’t a new concept because when I was a recruiter, I saw a bunch of people do the same thing and if the content of the resume was good, hiring teams really do appreciate the effort.
Customizing a resume for your dream company would have taken you a lot of time before, but now with Chat GPT 4o along with a few other plug ins, it has never been easier.
There are already a bunch of videos on how to customize resumes with Chat GPT 4o, so let me save you some time.
I am going to spare you the effort of using Chat GPT 4o to create these templates.
The next thing you want to do is send the screenshot(s) of your resume be it one page or two pages to grab the attention of the hiring manager.
You want them to STOP what they are doing and look at your resume.
The intention is to get the hiring team to share your resume organically with the rest of the team AND YOU WANT TO CREATE A MEMORABLE IMPRESSION FOR THE HIRING TEAM.
Times have changed.
The market has changed and that means we have to do what product managers do best, INNOVATE.
There is no other option.
You might be thinking “Rich, has this really what it’s come down to, man? Really bruh?”
Honestly fam, what choice did they leave us?
There are more applicants than ever.
Even though companies are still hiring for product manager roles, everybody on the team is more overworked than ever.
Fighting to grab the attention of hiring managers is absolutely key.
Here is a disclaimer, these are just templates; so you STILL need to ensure that the content on your resume is correct!
PS
I will be dropping the following templates once a week for the rest of the year.
